Teams tip into action at 4A Wes-King District boys basketball tournament

Redmond, Inglemoor, Woodinville and Jackson notched victories in the opening round of the 4A Wes-King District boys basketball tournament on Feb. 13.

Redmond beat Lake Stevens, 75-57, and will next play Glacier Peak at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Jackson High. Mustang Aidan Rolfs tallied 26 points, six rebounds and three steals and Nate Miller notched 13 points and five assists. Redmond had 18 assists and only six turnovers.

Inglemoor defeated Mount Vernon, 58-48, and will next play Mariner at noon Feb. 15 at Jackson High. Zach Shimek led the Vikings with 18 points, including 11-of-12 free throws; Peter Hansen amassed 13 points and 15 rebounds; and Dawson Tucker and Brady Casto added 10 and nine points, respectively.

Redmond and Inglemoor are teams in the Reporter’s coverage area.

In other action, Jackson beat Eastlake, 73-60, and will next play Skyline at noon Feb. 15 at Bothell High. Woodinville defeated Kamiak, 53-50, and will next take on Mount Si at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Bothell High.
