Timbercrest edges Skyview for junior high wrestling championship, ‘Dream Dual’ coming Wednesday

The six Northshore School District (NSD) junior high schools competed at Inglemoor High last Saturday for the NSD Championships, and Timbercrest of Woodinville finished one point ahead of Bothell's Skyview, 188-187, for the team title.

The six Northshore School District (NSD) junior high schools competed at Inglemoor High last Saturday for the NSD Championships, and Timbercrest of Woodinville finished one point ahead of Bothell’s Skyview, 188-187, for the team title.

Champions from Bothell-Kenmore schools included:

Marty Holk winning the 85-pound division, pinning Canyon Park’s Carter Drew in the championship in two minutes, 58 seconds;

Hak Do (100) of Skyview pinning Canyon Park’s Riley Risdon in 1:50;

Andrew Hanson (105) of Skyview pinning Canyon Park’s Lucas Ekstrom in 34 seconds;

Brandon Potts (110) of Kenmore defeating Skyview’s Triston McDaniel by a 19-5 decision;

Mitchell Barker (115) of Northshore pinning Skyview’s Alex Yancy in 4:05;

Riley Seward (120) of Northshore squeaking out a 7-6 win over Leota’s Dalton Mann;

Mason McDaniels (135) of Northshore pinning Timbercrest’s Tyler Chester in 2:23;

Keelan Haligan (145) of Skyview beating Northshore’s Caleb Brejda 6-4;

Ty Utton (185) of Kenmore pinning Skyview’s Colton Moser in 2:20;

Max Hanson (215) of Skyview pinning Timbercrest’s Ivan Walsh in 2:36.

Up next for the NSD champions will be the Kingco Junior High Dream Dual, which pits the NSD champions against the Lake Washington School District champions at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Lake Washington High School.
