Four Northshore runners will be represented at the 4A state cross country meet this Saturday, as three Inglemoor athletes, along with senior Nathan Conrad of Bothell earned berths at last Saturday’s Northwest Regional Championships at Lincoln Park in Seattle.
Conrad’s time was 15 minutes, 59 seconds, the first time he has ever broken the 16-minute barrier in a 5,000-meter race.
For the Vikings, Chris Wilson and Michael Mendenhall qualified on the boys’ side, both running 16:07 for ninth and 10th place overall, and for the girls, Kyra Burke qualified, running 19:21.
Burke, a talented distance runner, placed eighth last spring in the 3,200 meter race at the 4A state track and field meet.
The 4A state meet will be at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco this Saturday, Nov. 5.
