Woodinville knocked three balls over the fence on Wednesday, May 4, coasting to an 8-4 win over Inglemoor in a crucial KingCo 4A showdown at Woodinville High School.

Paige Grove had the first, a three-run shot in the bottom of the first inning to give Woodinville (13-3 overall, 11-2) a 4-0 lead. Skylar Hein and Olivia Reiner also hit home runs.

Inglemoor responded with a big homer of their own, coming via Mackenzie DeKay to lead off the top of the fourth inning. DeKay’s score kicked off a three-run rally which temporarily put the Vikings (12-5, 9-4) in the thick of things.

Camryn Scott, Sophia Swain and DeKay each finished with a run batted in for the Vikings, who lost for the first time in five games. Inglemoor currently sits in fourth place in the league standings with three games remaining.

The top six teams make the league tournament, with the top two teams getting a bye in the first round.

Next, the Vikings are scheduled to play Skyline at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at Inglemoor High School.
