Former senator McAuliffe officially files to run for Bothell City Council

Former long time 1st District state senator Rosemary McAuliffe has officially registered to run for Bothell City Council.

McAuliffe, who has lived in Bothell for 52 years, will challenge for position No. 3, which is currently held by Councilman Del Spivey. According to documents filed with the Public Disclosure Commission, McAullife officially declared her candidacy on March 9.

She held a campaign kickoff event at Alexa’s Cafe on Bothell’s Main Street on March 30.

McAuliffe told the Reporter in January of her possible intent to run for Bothell City Council following her retirement from the state Senate after representing the 1st District for 24 years.

One of the main groups in attendance for McAuliffe’s campaign kick off was Indivisible Bothell. Approximately 25 members of the 160-plus members showed up to show support and discuss local issues.
