Bartell Drugs is once again partnering with the Salvation Army to provide holiday gifts for children in need by collecting new, unwrapped toys during its ninth annual Salvation Army “Toy ‘N’ Joy” drive, now through Dec. 14.

“The drive helps make the holiday season brighter for deserving children,” said Chairman and CEO of Seattle-based Bartell Drugs George D. Bartell. “The generosity and support of our customers over the past eight years has been gratifying.”

The toy donations will be accepted at all 58 Bartell Drugs locations in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, including those in Bothell and Kenmore.Toys will be distributed to low-income children and youth the week before Christmas through the Salvation Army’s “toy warehouses.”

The five-week drive in 2011 generated over 5,200 toy donations by Bartell’s customers-the estimated equivalent of $78,637 in toys to the Salvation Army.

Those that would like to donate can choose a “gift request tag” from the “Toy ‘N’ Joy” display in the store and return the gift to the donation barrel with the tag affixed to it or donate new, unwrapped gifts appropriate for children up to 14 years-of-age.
