Newport defeats Inglemoor to end Viks’ softball season

It came down to the bottom of the seventh inning with Inglemoor’s softball season on the line.

With the score tied 6-6, Newport registered a walkoff hit to propel the Knights to a 7-6 victory and another game in the 4A KingCo tournament at Inglemoor High. The Viks are done for 2018.

Inglemoor blasted back from a 6-4 deficit to score twice in the top of the seventh.

The Viks led 4-1 after two innings and Newport went up 6-4 with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.

For Inglemoor, O’Nalisa Hall had three hits, Hailey King had two hits and three RBIs, Sophia Fike had one hit and two RBIs and Riley Garcia had an RBI single. Hall, King and Fike all doubled.
