Despite scoring just two points in the first quarter, the Cedar Park Christian Eagles boys nearly came back against Bellevue Christian during a 1A Emerald City League hoops matchup on Friday night at Cedar Park, falling 48-42.

The Eagles were trailing 44-27 going into the fourth quarter, but held the Vikings to just four points in the final frame to pull within six at the final buzzer.

For Cedar Park, Victor Sviridyuk led all scorers with 15, followed by Evan Scholten with 12.

The Eagles evened up at 2-2 in league play and dropped to 5-6 overall.

FALL TO VIKINGS

In a matchup between two 1A Emerald City League powerhouses, the Bellevue Christian Vikings outmuscled the Cedar Park Christian Eagles, 59-42, on Friday night, handing the Eagles their first league loss of the year.

The Vikings got off to a sluggish start, trailing 11-8 after the first quarter, but poured on the offense late as Bree Oldham (17 points), Alina Valle (12) and Maren Haines (11) each scored double-digits.

For Cedar Park, Rachel Staudacher led the Eagles with 18, followed by Mikaela Raschick with 13.

The lady Eagles dropped to 4-1 in league play and 7-2 overall.
