Six Bothell residents place during Washington State Fair 4-H equestrian competitions

The best 4-H horses trotted to Fair victory at the Washington State 4-H Fair at the Washington State Fair. Contestants traveled from all corners of the state to compete in several categories with six Bothell residents placing during the competitions.
Laura Goodnight was crowned the champion in the senior division of the Hunt Seat Equitation competition. Kaitlin Dierks was one of eight judges on theĀ championship Intermediate Equine Judging team. Beth Smith and Allison Rowley were two of eight judges on the third place Senior Equine Judging team. Melissa Sweeny took fifth place in the senior division of the Harness Fit and Show category. Victoria Walker took fifth place in the senior division of the Saddle Seat Equitation competition. All senior division competitors are 9th grade through age 18.
