The city of Kenmore Planning Commission is holding a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Kenmore City Hall to take comment and testimony on the city’s draft Park, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) plan.

The draft plan is the result of nearly seven months of community effort to define the vision for parks and recreation in the city through the year 2035. Public involvement during preparation of the plan has included four public surveys, a public open house and forum, and a recreation provider and user questionnaire.

The Planning Commission is scheduled to discuss public comment and make a recommendation whether to forward the plan to the City Council on Oct. 8. The council will then review the recommendation at a joint meeting planned for Oct. 21 at Kenmore City Hall.

The PROS plan will likely be adopted by City Council in November. Copies of the draft plan are available to review on the city’s website, www.kenmorewa.gov, and at City Hall and the Kenmore Library.
