Bothell guitarist Damon Buxton to perform in Kirland

Published 12:49 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2013

American acoustic instrumental guitarist and Bothell resident Damon Buxton will join New Jersey pianist Heidi Breyer in a two-hour plus concert at Kirkland Performance Center on Oct. 25.

Buxton is an American instrumental acoustic guitarist and composer who uses silent spaces, open tunings, natural reverb and double picking to create a beautifully sparse and resonant sound. Buxton delivers an uplifting and engaging solo guitar performance with positive humor and grace.

Heidi Anne Breyer is a British-born, classically trained pianist and composer whose original piano and instrumental compositions feature haunting melodies and vocals that marry technical mastery with emotional intimacy. Breyer’s performances excite, engage and delight audiences with a balance of pure passion and serene introspection.

These different artists found common ground recording and working with legendary guitarist and producer Will Ackerman, founder of Windham Hill Records, and Grammy® Award-winning producer and engineer Corin Nelsen. Now they are exploring new territory, sharing the stage of KPC and performing selections from their solo recordings such as Buxton’s Unbroken and Breyer’s Beyond the Turning.
