The Bothell High School softball team opened the regular season with a 6-5 victory against Skyline on Monday in Issaquah.
Skyline began the game with a two-run first inning lead, but the Cougars tied the game during their very next at-bat and then took a 3-2 lead in the fourth. That one-run lead would prove to be the difference as the teams played score-for-score during the rest of the game.
Bothell was led by Becca Fortney, with two RBI, and Megan Marino, who was 2-for-3. Janell Martin picked up the win by throwing a complete game and striking out five batters.
The Cougars will host Eastlake today at 4 p.m.
