Inglemoor scores seven runs in fifth inning to blow past Newport | Prep softball

The Inglemoor High softball team caught fire in the top of the fifth inning, reeling off a six-run, two-out rally to a 10-0 win over Newport to bed in KingCo League action on Monday in Bellevue.
The Vikings (8-4 overall, 5-3) scored seven runs overall in the top of the fifth. Talia Starr, Mackenzie DeKay and Maleah Woodley each finished with two RBIs.
Teagan McDonald went the distance for Inglemoor, striking out one batter but allowing only four hits with no walks. The defense did the rest, cleaning up 12 of 16 balls that came into play without an error.
The Vikings battered Newport for 11 hits.
The win over Newport snapped a three-game losing skid for the Vikings, who are scheduled to take on Redmond High at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at Hartman Park in Redmond. Inglemoor sits a game behind Eastlake in the loss column for third in the KingCo 4A standings.
