A stretch of road on 61st Avenue Northeast south of State Route 522 has reopened after months of construction.

A stretch of road on 61st Avenue Northeast south of State Route 522 has reopened after months of construction.

After months of construction, 61st Avenue Northeast between Northeast 175th Street and State Route 522 reopened Wednesday, providing easy access between the state route and Log Boom Park.

The project was designed to improve pedestrian safety with new sidewalks, medians and signals. Utilities were also put underground and landscaping and lighting was added.
