Bothell baseball edges Issaquah | Prep baseball, softball roundup

The Bothell High baseball team nabbed two home runs in the first three innings in a 7-2 defeat of Issaquah in KingCo League play on Monday at Bothell High School.

Carson Ryder hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning, and Brody Ponti hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the third as the Cougars (10-7 overall, 8-6) moved two games above .500 in league play for the second time this season.

Ponti finished 2-4 with three RBIs, while Derek Lohr and Miles Jackson both doubled and combined for three hits.

Kyle Edwards got the start and the win for the Cougars, going four innings with six hits, five strikeouts and two earned runs. Jack Hadley stepped in to pitch the final three innings with one hit and four strikeouts.

Next, the Cougars are scheduled to play league-leading Mount Si at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 in Snoqualmie.

• Woodinville 4, Inglemoor 2. Tyler Williams gave Inglemoor another good stretch, but once again the bats couldn’t deliver and the Vikings dropped a KingCo 4A League game to Woodinville on Monday at Woodinville High School.

Williams pitched a complete game, allowing nine hits and striking out two batters for the Vikings (3-13, 1-12).

Woodinville’s Bryce Coyne and Andrew Hastings combined for five allowed hits, striking out five Vikings with no walks.

Inglemoor scored both runs in the top of the seventh inning on errors: an error at second base, and a balk with a runner on third.

Drew Barlow led Woodinville with two RBIs.

Next, the Vikings are scheduled to play Skyline at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 at Inglemoor High School.

SOFTBALL

• Eastlake 15, Bothell 4. The Cougars dropped their ninth consecutive game on Friday, falling to Eastlake in a tough KingCo League match up at Bothell High School.

Chloe Lium hit a two-run homer for Bothell (3-11 overall, 1-9) in the bottom of the fourth, and finished 2-3 with two RBIs.

Brooke Powers and Liz Olson combined for the loss in the circle for Bothell, but allowed only seven hits.

Trynne Lilleskare pitched five innings for Eastlake, striking out four batters and adding a grand slam home run for Eastlake in the top of the fourth inning.

Next, Bothell is scheduled to play Newport (2-12, 0-10) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 at Newport High School in Bellevue.
