Bothell High School (BHS) senior Grace White attended the International Thespian Festival this summer and took first place for costume design at the University of Nebraska. She qualified to attend the festival when she received a perfect score for her theoretical costume designs at the Washington State Thespian Festival earlier in the year.

While attending the festival this summer she presented five original costume designs for the stage play, “Into the Woods.”

The judges chose White’s designs and presentation as the winner out of approximately 20 finalists. There were no other places awarded for costume design.

White is now in the process of producing a one-act play which she wrote and will direct as part of the upcoming BHS One-Act festival. Seniors in the Drama Department are given the opportunity to choose a one-act play for which any BHS student may audition. This year’s festival will include seven plays.
