University of Washington, Bothell undergraduate accounting students placed third in the Beta Alpha Psi regional competition April 9-10 in Spokane.

Nathan Al-Huwail, Alex Olson, Andrew Lowe and Vladimir Kolpatchev’s presentation was in the Chapter Sustainability category of the Best Practices competition.

Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary academic organization for students pursuing degrees and careers in the field of accounting. The UW-Bothell chapter is petitioning for formal status in Beta Alpha Psi, as is required for all new accounting programs. The UW-Bothell will graduate its first class of accounting majors this spring.

“For a petitioning chapter to place in a regional competition is a significant accomplishment. This is a true testament to the dedication and commitment of our students,” said Deborah Medlar, faculty adviser.

Says Business Program Director Sandeep Krishnamurthy, “This is a great exemplar of the amazing energy around accounting on our campus.”
