DeKay leads Inglemoor to big win over Eastlake | Prep softball

The Inglemoor High softball team survived a late rally for a critical KingCo victory, 11-6, over Eastlake on Monday, May 9 in Sammamish.
The Vikings (14-5 overall, 11-4) are now even with Eastlake in the KingCo standings for the third overall seed in the upcoming KingCo 4A tournament with one game remaining for each team.
Once again, Mackenzie DeKay did the heavy lifting for Inglemoor, finishing 4-4 with seven RBIs and a grand slam home run, while also pitching five and one third innings. Tegan McDonald came on to close, allowing no hits, no runs and no walks.
Hannah Shimek finished 2-4 with an RBI and Michelle Fusco was 2-3 with one RBI.
Emma Bickford and Corina Jones both hit home runs for Eastlake.
Next, the Vikings are scheduled to play Newport at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 at Inglemoor High School.
The KingCo 4A tournament includes the league’s top six teams, and is scheduled for May 16-21 at Inglemoor High School.
