Bothell, Inglemoor golfers fall short of state tournament | Prep boys’ golf

Golfers from the Northshore schools fell short of the state tournament, as all representatives from Bothell, Inglemoor and Woodinville failed to make final cut on Oct. 11 at Snohomish Golf Course.

Inglemoor senior Mason Phalen finished tied for 14th overall, shooting an 80 and a 77 for an overall score of 157 — two strokes from making the cut. The top 10 golfers advance to the Class 4A state tournament in May.

Bothell freshman Ryan Knox finished tied for 20th overall with a combined score of 159. Bothell junior Andrew Kibbee finished in a tie for 24th with a 162, and Bothell senior Brett Anzlovar finished tied for 26th with a 167.

Newport junior Ivan Zhao won the tournament, shooting a 74 and a 69 for an overall score of 143. Mount Si freshman Drew Warford finished second with a 144.

Eastlake won the tournament with 78.5 points, while Newport took second with 65. Inglemoor finished sixth with six points, Woodinville finished seventh with three points and Bothell finished eighth with .5 points.
