Inglemoor sophomore Hayden McTavish was named the 2013 Pokémon Video Game Senior Division World Champion. Participating in the world championship tournament held Aug. 9–11 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Hayden defeated Japan’s national champion in a loser-out qualifier match to make it into the championship round. He played matches against participants from Denmark, Spain, Italy, Scotland and the U.S. to win the coveted trophy.

Among other prizes, Hayden won a $3,500 scholarship and an invitation to next year’s Worlds in Washington, D.C.
