The following is a release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:

Drivers on Interstate 405 should prepare for possible delays northbound between State Route 527 and Interstate 5 this evening through tomorrow morning. A segment of the northbound express toll lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 through 5 a.m. Thursday, March 3. General purpose lanes will remain open to all traffic during this time period.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close a section of the northbound I-405 express toll lane after SR 527 in Canyon Park to I-5. These closures are needed to replace toll collection equipment currently operating on a backup scanner. This has not had any impact on customers or billing. During this time, I-405 express toll lane rate signs will display “HOV ONLY” or “CLOSED” for trips through this segment of the express toll lanes.
