Bothell offers free personal document shredding

Protect your private information and pulverize those sensitive records at the city of Bothell’s free document-destruction event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Bothell City Hall parking lot, 18305 101st Ave. N.E.

The pulverizing process turns the paper into recyclable material and adheres to the U.S. Department of Defense specifications, which the city touts as the most advanced of their kind.

Bothell residents are invited to bring up to three grocery bags or two copy paper-sized boxes (12 inches by 15 inches by 10 inches) of residential records such as bank statements, ATM receipts and old tax records. Electronic media will not be accepted, including such items as CDs, DVDs and hard drives. Call the City Clerk Division at (425) 486-3256 to request arrangements for quantities larger than those specified. Please bring your photo ID for residency verification.
