Bothell resident Elena Landa is one of seven finalists for the American Kennel Club (AKC) Breeder of the Year award. Landa, a soft-coated Wheaten terrier breeder, is being honored for dedicating her life to improving the health, temperament and quality of pure-bred dogs.

The overall title will be awarded this December at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship in Orlando, Fla., and the organization will also be honoring Landa’s accomplishments at that time.
