Two men face possible charges, including one felony count of indecent liberties, after a woman reportedly was attacked late Feb. 5 on Main Street in Bothell.

Bothell Police Public Information Officer Capt. Denise Langford said the victim was outside a business on Main when the incident allegedly occurred.

According to the victim, she and her husband are preparing to open a new business on the street. They were working on the outside of the storefront, painting and making some other repairs.

According to Langford, the woman was on a ladder when two men approached, apparently having left the nearby Main Street Ale House. The victim claimed the men made what she called lewd, obnoxious comments. Langford said one of the men then grabbed the woman between the legs.

“I will never forget that man’s face,” the victim told the Reporter.

“It was ridiculous what happened,” Langford said.

The victim’s husband tried to intervene in the situation and ended up in a physical confrontation with the alleged attacker and his companion. Both Langford and the victim said police showed up quickly, with Langford adding officers talked to everyone involved and at least one witness.

Langford added the suspect facing the felony charge was arrested and detained, while the second man was cited and released. She described the first man as being 39 years old and the second as being 36 years old and declined to release their names.

According to the victim, she suffered a significant amount of pain as a result of the reported assault and ended up in a local emergency room. She said both she and her husband were shocked by the alleged attack. “This just doesn’t happen in Bothell, is what I thought,” she said.

However, the woman added neither she nor her husband had been deterred from opening their new business on Main.

“It’s not going to stop me,” she said.
