Driver allegedly attacked after Bothell accident

A driver identified only as a male, 55, allegedly was attacked at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 18 by two men who jumped into his car somewhere near the intersection of Fourth Avenue West and 224th Street Southwest, according to Bothell Police spokesperson Capt. Denise Langford.

The driver allegedly lost control of his vehicle and struck another vehicle at that intersection, Langford added.

According to separate information released by Bothell police, the driver was robbed of prescription drugs and a cell phone. He reportedly showed signs of redness on the right side of his face and swelling around the eye.

Langford said it was unclear exactly where the suspects entered the alleged victim’s car. Langford said the driver told police he tried to drive as the two assaulted him and allegedly simply lost control of his car. The suspects reportedly fled the scene when the traffic collision occurred.

Besides any injuries suffered by the driver during the alleged attack, no further injuries were reported in connection with the incident. It was unclear from reports if the struck car was parked or moving at the time of the accident.

Police offered no further information on the identity of the victim. One suspect was described only as a white male. No information was available on his accomplice. Langford said the incident is still under police investigation.
