Salsa moves, belly-dancing wiggles and line-dancing kicks.

All this and more will be on tap at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center’s Day of Dance, a free event that will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Molly Shen of KOMO Television will be the celebrity emcee at this inaugural event in Evergreen’s new partnership with Spirit of Women.

Evergreen Hospital is an exclusive partner in the Spirit of Women network. The Spirit of Women is a national coalition of hospitals that creates fascinating, fun and enjoyable health education events. The partnership of Evergreen and Spirit of Women provides a multi-faceted approach that will encourage women to be proactive in their family’s health care. Each Spirit of Women event will offer women (men welcomed, too) the knowledge and training to be healthy in mind, body and spirit.

The Day of Dance will include performances by local dance groups, free health screenings, interesting booths and health tips and handouts. It is co-sponsored by KOMO Television and Hope Heart Institute. Day of Dance is a drop-in-when-you-can or stay-all-day event.

Memberships in Evergreen’s exclusive Spirit of Women program will be free at the Day of Dance. Members will be invited to special programs throughout the year, receive regular health updates and tips, discounts for local services and businesses and a quarterly magazine filled with the latest family health information. Members will have the first opportunity to register for October’s Women’s Night Out.

Parking at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. S.W., is free.
