Kenmore Sheriff’s Blotter: Unknown powder sprayed all over Jay’s Cafe, other vandalism

Between Jan. 22 and Jan. 25, two cases of vandalism were reported, along with one trespass, one DUI, one auto theft, one case of driving without a license and one criminal warrant was served.

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical roundup of all calls to the King County Sheriff’s Office that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. Between Jan. 22 and Jan. 25, two cases of vandalism were reported, along with one trespass, one DUI, one auto theft, one case of driving without a license and one criminal warrant was served.

 

Jan. 22

A man was pulled over and arrested for driving without a license and a Seattle warrant.

A woman was removed from the Kenmore Inn Motel parking lot and trespassed after police said she was yelling at a manager while drunk and high on narcotics.

 

Jan. 23

After speeding on Juanita Drive, a man lost control of his vehicle and spun out attempting to turn. According to police, his blood alcohol content was .166, more than twice the legal limit. He was cited through the courts and released after processing.

Police suspect a fire extinguisher was set off through a hole in the west door of Jay’s Cafe, coating the floors and countertops in a light yellow powder, although the fire department couldn’t confirm what the substance was.

Two mailbox stands were broken into in the 8900 block of Northeast 170 Street by being pried open. There are no suspects or loss estimates at this time.

 

Jan. 25

A man was given a citation for driving with a suspended license in the 18200 block of 73 Avenue Northeast.

A woman parked her car in the driveway of the house next door overnight, but when she woke up it was gone. Police are investigating it as an auto theft.
