Annexation takes effect June 1, 2011

As the annexation of the Finn Hill, North Juanita and Kingsgate neighborhood areas into the city of Kirkland approaches, annexation-area residents and businesses are encouraged to tap into city information available at the city of Kirkland’s Web site, through e-mail and by participating in city meetings. Current annexation planning efforts include defining neighborhood boundaries, budgeting for service levels when annexation takes effect and negotiating with King County about the transfer of parks and other services.

The city is available to assist annexation area citizens and businesses with questions about permitting, zoning regulations, licensing, utility rates and shoreline regulations. City Hall hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. For department phone-number listings, call the main line at (425) 587-3000 or visit www.ci.kirkland.wa.us/contact_us.

The U.S. Post Office advises that it will notify its postal customers within the annexation area who have Bothell and Woodinville addresses of the city and zip-code change that will take place by July 1, 2011.

Current Woodinville Water District and Northshore Utility District customers who reside in the annexation area will continue to be served by their respective service providers.

The annexation will not affect school-district boundaries, library services or the private utility service providers for gas/electricity, telephone or Internet.
