New Kenmore Library groundbreaking set for June 8

To celebrate the start of construction for the new 10,000-square-foot Kenmore Library, a groundbreaking event will be held at 3:15 p.m. June 8 at 6531 N.E. 181st St. Property for the new library was purchased at a visible site, just a short distance from the existing library.

Construction of the new $10.49 million library is part of the $172 million capital bond, approved by voters to fund major upkeep and expansion of King County Library System libraries.

The new library will include a community meeting room, children’s and teen areas and more space for studying and reading. The existing library will remain open during construction of the new library.
