Northshore accounting director earns prestigious state designation

Holly Burlingame, director of accounting at Northshore School District, earned the prestigious designation of Certified School Business Administrator (CBSA) from the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO).

Holly Burlingame, director of accounting at Northshore School District, earned the prestigious designation of Certified School Business Administrator (CBSA) from the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO).

Burlingame is respected statewide for her expertise in school district accounting and has held the position of director of accounting for 13 years. She has been a statewide school district accounting trainer through WASBO since 2009 and serves as the WASBO representative for the School District Accounting Advisory Committee, which authors the accounting rules for school districts across the state. Burlingame was appointed to this position in 2002.

The goals of the certification program include professionalizing the position of school business personnel through the establishment of high standards of education, experience, ethics and performance, developing confidence within the educational community (administrators, board members, staff, students) that the business function is in competent hands and developing confidence with the general community that the business function is in competent hands.

The Washington Association of School Business Officials is a professional association that provides programs and services to promote best practices of school business management, professional growth and the effective use of educational resources.
