University of Washington receives A-minus grade on College Sustainability Report

For the fourth year in a row, the University of Washington received an A-minus grade on the 2011 College Sustainability Report Card.

UW-Bothell contributed to this outstanding score through the implementation of sustainable practices within the UW-Bothell administration and building operations.

UW-Bothell was praised for its composting receptacles around campus, three rain gardens and the act of car washing and oil changing at off-site locations that use recycled water.

The positive appraisal was reflective of the work that UW-Bothell’s Sustainability Task Force set out to do in the last year.

Of the evaluation, UW-Bothell Chancellor, Kenyon Chan, says, “It is such an honor to be recognized for all of the hard work that our campus’ faculty, staff and students have put forth in regards to sustainability. It is truly a reflection of the University of Washington’s leadership in sustainability.”
