The Cedar Park Christian football team got the season off to a good start on Friday, Sept. 2 at Redmond High School, beating Bellevue Christian 23-14 in the nonconference season opener.

The Cedar Park Christian football team got the season off to a good start on Friday, Sept. 2 at Redmond High School, beating Bellevue Christian 23-14 in the nonconference season opener.

Senior running back Josiah Sergeant scored twice, catching a 38-yard pass from Jack Flynn in the first quarter. Sergeant scored again in the fourth quarter, taking off from the 18-yard-line, throwing a stiff-arm at the 10-yard-line and diving over the pylon.

Flynn threw for 91 yards without an interception. The Cedar Park defense held Bellevue Christian to 224 rushing yards, and 1-9 effeciency on third down.

The Eagles (1-0) are next scheduled to play at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9 at Vashton Island High School.
