Inglemoor High graduate Courtney Porter was recently named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance as goalkeeper for the Whitman College Missionaries soccer team.

Porter, a junior, made 20 saves in her last 200 minutes in goal and posted two shutouts on the road. She blanked George Fox University, 1-0, and also made 10 saves during a double-overtime tie at Pacific University. She had shut out five of the eight conference schools that Whitman had played this season at the Reporter deadline.

A year ago in her first season as starter, Porter led the division in shutouts with eight in 20 games, and she is on pace to break that mark in 2008. Porter was named to the All-Northwest Conference Second Team last season.
