The Inglemoor High School football team narrowly missed an opportunity to earn its first win of the young season Friday, losing to Issaquah 11-10.

Inglemoor held its first lead of the season during the first quarter of the game, as quarterback Ryan Larson capped off the team’s first drive with a 27-yard touchdown pass to junior Alex Zamudio.

The Viking defense played well during the first half, holding the Eagles to just a field goal as the visiting team took a 7-3 lead into halftime.

But a 36-yard field goal for Issaquah cut the lead to just one point as the the second half began.

Inglemoor fought back with a 30-yard field goal of its own off the foot of junior Chandler Davis.

The Eagles inched closer and capitalized on an Inglemoor mistake, scoring a safety and cutting the lead to 10-8.

Issaquah would end the contest with a game winning 20-yard field goal.

Inglemoor will regroup and host Newport at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell.
