Vikings fall to Eagles thanks to six pins | Prep wrestling

The Inglemoor High School wrestling team lost to Issaquah Tuesday, suffering six pins but winning some grueling matches.

Viking Jared Koukal earned the team’s lone pin during the meet. It came in the 170-pound weight class against Chance Gunter during the first round (1:36).

One of the best matches of the night came at 152 pounds, as Gabe Seward of Inglemoor beat Jerdon Helgson in a close 5-3 decision.

Another close match came at 138 pounds, as Viking Eric Wang narrowly earned a decision against Seth Hartman 7-6.

Inglemoor’s Mitchell Barker won at 120 pounds with a 16-5 victory and Josh Koukal won at 220 pounds against Ahmed Ahmed, 7-1.

The Vikings also picked up a forfeit at 195 pounds.
