The Bothell baseball team bashed the ball for 12 hits Monday, beating Ballard 7-3 at home.

The Cougars got on the board early with two runs during the bottom of the first inning and added a third run during the third inning.

But Ballard cut that lead to just two runs during the fifth inning.

Bothell put the game away during the bottom of the sixth with four more runs. That lead turned out to be a little too much to overcome for the Beavers, scoring two runs during the top of the seventh but coming up short of the tie.

Bothell’s Sam Lee smashed a home run during the game, while Saige Tyndall was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.

Cougars’ starting pitcher Travis Dohr picked up the win, going six-and-a-third innings, striking out six batters, while giving up three runs.
