Bothell High School student Carl Mowrey’s portfolio competed against 248 other students in the state and won first place in a 10-week online stock market challenge.
Mowrey was able to turn $100,000 into $112,857 and beat the S&P 500 average by 7.7 percent. The challenge was part of a personal finance class Mowrey is currently taking.
Mowrey will be attending an awards ceremony at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco later this year as a result.
