Verna M. Zander

November 6, 1919 – April 24, 2016

Verna M. Zander was born in Buffalo County, WI. and grew up on a farm near Durand. She attended Ripon College and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biology in 1940. She was accepted to graduate school at the University of Colorado and received her Masters in Zoology in 1942.

Verna went on to teach at Colorado A&M where she met her future husband Donald Zander. They married in 1945 and eventually settled in Woodinville. Verna was active in PTA, Scouting, and the United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her kind smile, quick wit and the many talents she used to benefit others.

Verna is survived by her children Linda Roe, David Zander, Arnold Zander and 5 grandchildren.

Services to be held at the Bothell United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 21 at 2 PM.
