A pair of Bothell students signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) earlier this week to play sports at the collegiate level.

Senior Kendra Heyer (middle), a three-sport athlete at Bothell High School, signed her NLI Wednesday morning to attend LaSalle University in Philadelphia on a softball scholarship.

Heyer also played soccer and basketball for the Cougars.

As a co-captain and center fielder on the fastpitch team, Heyer was named to the All-Kingco First Team last spring.

LaSalle is a four-year, private Catholic University and a member of NCAA Division I.

Cedar Park Christian School standout Rachel Staudacher also signed her NLI on Wednesday to play Division I basketball at the University of Montana next year.

Staudacher, a 6-foot-1 guard, averaged 22.2 points per game last year to lead the Eagles and also earn an All-Emerald City League first team selection along with the league’s Most Valuable Player award.

“I chose the University of Montana because I think it is the perfect fit,” Staudacher said. “I am excited to be a part of a program steeped in basketball tradition! I loved the coaching staff and after meeting and watching the girls I realized I wanted to be a part of the ‘Lady Griz’ family. The style of basketball suits the kind of player that I am, and I am so excited for this opportunity.”

Staudacher (below) also plays for Columbia Cascades Basketball, an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) club.
