Two blocks of Bothell’s Main Street will be closed from 2-7 p.m. today from 102nd Avenue Northeast west to the intersection at State Route 522.

The closure is for an event for Sen. Patty Murray, who grew up in Bothell.

Democrat Murray will face Republican Dino Rossi in November after they were the top two vote-getters in the Aug. 17 primary.

“My job is to help people across our state and solve problems. And I get up every day and ask what I can do to make sure the families I represent have a champion fighting for them,” Murray said in a press release.

A portion of 101st Avenue Northeast will also be closed. Other roads in the vicinity, including SR 522, may experience congestion during rush-hour traffic as a result of the closure. Access to all parking lots behind Main Street buildings will remain open. During the closure, businesses along Main Street will be open.
