The race for Bothell City Council is about one thing and one thing only – land development in Bothell and who makes the most money off of it.
For Roz Gorc and Tim Ottersburg it is about:
– Retaining the stranglehold that the Master Builders Association (MBA) has had on this city for over a decade. Without these two candidates this council will lose their ability to commandeer and steer which bids are approved by council.
– Ensuring the developer majority on council continues to gerrymander the Planning Commission. This commission of land owners and developers wrote our 2015 comprehensive plan to ensure a developer can max out property to create poorly designed neighborhoods.
– Reducing critical habitat, as much as possible, to pave over every square inch of land left in Bothell before the next housing bubble bursts.
– Prioritizing how YOUR money to destroy critical habitat over creating safe pedestrian routes to our now overcrowded, and unhealthy public schools.
– Making the few developers in town and their partners, even wealthier by refusing to implement appropriate traffic mitigation fees or frontage improvements on new developments.
The time has come to take back Bothell for all residents at this pivotal crossroad in our history. We need the municipal experience and independent thinking of the following proven, dedicated individuals: Andy Rheaume, James McNeal (president of OneBothell.Org) and Davina Duerr represent all that is decent and moral in Bothell. They have demonstrated that they will consider all aspects to grow our city in a wise and sustainable manner and unite Bothell to protect, not just our quality of life, but our taxpayer dollars.
It’s your property taxes that have been wasted.
It’s your wait in traffic. (This council majority has refused to do a decent job of lobbying for transit.)
It’s your children who don’t have sidewalks or decent lighting to walk to schools.
It’s your opportunity to stop corruption.
It’s your opportunity to preserve and protect our natural resources.
It’s your opportunity to take back control of how our taxpayer dollars are prioritized.
It’s your opportunity to shape the future.
It’s your vote. Make it count.
