Students from each grade level wrote heartfelt messages to veterans on stars and the school leadership team incorporated some of those messages into the wall banner used at their Veterans Day assembly Nov. 3.

Some of the messages included:

• “Thank you for stepping forward while others stepped back.”

• “Thank you so much for keeping our country and others safe. Lots of love is sent to you and your family.”

• “Miss you grandpa – hope you come home real soon.”

• “To whoever this goes to – thank you for serving our country – it means so much to me. And, every morning you wake up remember that you did something amazing and special for us all.”

• “Thank you for dedicating you life for people who may never do the same for you.”

• “Thank you for your sacrifice – your family must be proud of you not only for going through physical pain but also the emotional pain of missing your family.”

• “Grandpa – thank you for being in the Navy and serving our country. I’m so happy that you helped our country during WWII. Thank you for sacrificing certain things for everyone – I don’t care if you played a small role – I couldn’t be more proud of you!”

• “Thank you for fighting for our country. We honor your bravery, perseverance, and all of the sacrifices that you made for us.”

• “Thank you for sacrificing so much of your precious life to protect those of us who need it. Words cannot describe how thankful I am that you served your time for us. I am not alone when I say loyalty and courage has made America so much better.”
