I was disappointed in a Reporter article regarding the recent changes to the unpopular HOV lanes on 405 opening both lanes to everyone on evenings, weekends, and holidays – as the majority of drivers made it very clear that it is what we wanted to have happen.
Homelessness in the Northshore communities is a difficult challenge for the homeless and for the communities.

As the clock counts down to the June 22 opening of the 18th annual Kenmore Art Show, let me remind you that there is no down side – only benefits – to taking time for enjoyment of art.
I have concerns surrounding the direction of our city [Bothell] and the firing of your CEO, city manager, Bob Stowe. Many people I talk with have concern about our great city, and do not speak up. So, may I please suggest you come out of your comfort zone and speak up for your community. For or against issues with educated data is encouraged. Come to Council meetings and speak, write letters to council members, letters to editor, talk about your concerns. I believe in the future of Bothell, love living here… if you agree please speak up.
Could Snohomish County’s battle against a heroin epidemic crimp Sound Transit’s delivery of light rail into Everett and other Puget Sound communities?

The voters of Bothell hire the City Council to set policy, represent the city, and direct how our money will be spent. In the last four contested City Council races, an average of 59 percent of the voters have chosen a new direction.
I have lived in Bothell my entire life and love being part of this community.

If you ever find yourself with a group of hungry friends or family who all declare an interest in going out for Asian food but can’t decide what kind – Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Thai? – Sushi Chinoise is the place to go. The name of the restaurant can be deceiving as it sounds as if it might be a French sushi shop that comes with a sort of Chinese twist. In fact, Sushi Chinoise serves a veritable panorama of Pan Asian cuisine: sushi, Chinese rice and meat dishes, curry noodles from Singapore, Vietnamese-style rice bowls and egg rolls, and chef Thao Nguyen’s now-famous Bibimbap, the Korean rice bowl that helped her win top honors on the Food Network show, “Beat Bobby Flay” in May last year.

There has been a lot of speculation, questions and even personal accusations surrounding the firing of Bothell city manager Bob Stowe.
The defeated rose to complain after the new council majority, lead by Mayor Andy Rheaume, stood up to the pro-development community and fired city manager Bob Stowe. To any who have regularity attended council meetings the numerous questionable accusations were unbelievable coming from the former mayor Freed, former councilman [Bill] Evans, losing council candidate Roz Gorc, business owner Leigh Henderson (a major supporter of the former council and the defeated so called “Parks Bond”) and all their supporters.
This Sunday and for a number of years now, I have heard the frequent sound of chainsaws in Bothell.
Mayor Andy Rheaume appeared very nervous in his interview on King 5 last week. Based on his shifting explanations about the firing of City Manager Bob Stowe he has good reason to sweat.
With two children in the Northshore School District, I have seen no program better support every student’s dreams and ambitions than Challenge. The Save Our Challenge petition on Change.org has 1,387 supporters. Abundant parent and student testimony to the School Board has supported the option to choose, or not choose, Challenge classes in every discipline. Anything less weakens college readiness and leaves students at greater risk of becoming dropouts.
It with great sadness that I have to write this letter. Bothell City Council members Andy Rheume, Davina Durr, Tris Samburg, Tom Agnew and James McNeal, all voted to terminate the most esteemed city manager in the state of Washington.
This statement was read at the 10 May Bothell City Council Meeting and submitted as a letter:
I commented at the Bothell City Council meeting [on May 10] regarding transparency. Or the lack of transparency on the council. Seems like it’s a buzz word when campaigning, and subjective when action is required. Tired of the double standard. Here is the copy I prepared and read last night. I’m happy to share more as you wish.
